Email sends
Custom sender
3min
By default, sending emails will use Rollstack's default email sender. However, you also have the option to customize the sender field by using your own email address. This ensures recipients recognize and trust the email source even more.
You can set this up under Settings > Account
Three options are available depending on your account type:
- Gmail
- Outlook
- Manual SMTP configuration
If you choose manual SMTP configuration, you will be asked to provide these fields:
- Host: This is the address of the SMTP server you want to use for sending emails. It is typically provided by your email service provider (e.g., smtp.gmail.com for Gmail). The host ensures that your emails are routed through the correct server.
- Port: The port number specifies the communication endpoint for the SMTP server. Common port numbers are 587 for secure email submissions or 465 for older SSL connections. Your email service provider will indicate the correct port to use.
- Email: This is the email address you’ll use to send messages through the SMTP server. Ensure that it is a valid and active email account associated with the SMTP service.
- App Password: Some account providers like Google and Microsoft require an app-specific password for security instead of your regular account password. This is a unique password generated specifically for the application or service to access your email account. It adds an extra layer of security by keeping your main account password private.
